Located at the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB, see picture) on the beautiful campus of Michigan State University (MSU), the International Research Laboratory for Nuclear Physics and nuclear Astrophysics (IRL-NPA) was established between the French research organization, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and MSU.
The activities of the laboratory concern four main pillars of fundamental research on the physics of atomic nuclei, produced on Earth and in the cosmos: Nuclear Structure and Reactions; Nuclear Astrophysics; Nuclear Theory; and Instrumentation for Experimental Nuclear Science.
